Employment history - For employed applicants the lender will generally require eighteen months history of employment unless the applicant has had more than three jobs in that period. At this point the lender is likely to require three years employment history.

For self employed applicants the lenders generally require three years employment history which is in conjunction with the proof of income required for this type of applicant.

For some lenders subcontractors should have at least one-year proof of business or employment in similar business. If contracting for one or two companies this would be classed as employed and if more than two years this would come under self employed
