Nationwide Slashes Fixed Rate Mortgages

As from 16th May, Nationwide are to reduce the rates on their two and five year fixed rate mortgages. Their two year fixed rate for house purchase is 5.95% with a £599 fee, a drop from 6.50% with a £499 fee. Also there is a two year fixed rate with no fee from 6.35% this was 6.5%.

Five-year deals are being offered at 5.85% with a £599 fee down from 6.15% with a £699 fee.

Another exclusive deal for Nationwide borrowers changing a mortgage is a five year fixed rate, from 5.95% with no fee, this used to be 6.15%.

A two-year re-mortgage is now 6.55% with no fee down from 6.70%. Another deal is a two-year fixed rate with £599 fee at 6.15% reduced from 6.30% with a £499 fee.

These deals will be good news for new buyers plus those re-mortgaging and customers who are coming to the end of their current mortgage deal.
