For Full Status mortgages references may be required as proof of earnings. These could be in the form of wages slips or a written reference direct from the applicants employer. Generally if requesting payslips, at least three months will be required. A latest P60 may also have to be submitted. If the applicant is trying to prove bonuses, overtime etc for use in the income multiple, some lenders may require considerably longer proof of earnings.

Applicants who are self certifying will not be required to present proof of earnings.

The type of references lenders might require may depend on applicant, size of loan and deposit to be paid.
