Types of Property

In general most types of houses, bungalows and flats will be accepted for residential mortgages however all lending is subject to a satisfactory valuation report. If the valuer has reason to doubt the resaleability of any property, the lender may be more inclined not to lend on the property. Non standard construction may be considered but varies per lender and it is worth checking with a few lenders before looking at these types of properties.

Most lenders will provide mortgages for properties in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some lenders will not do Northern Ireland, some only do mainland Scotland and a few will not lend on Isle of Mann, Isle of White etc.
